Eczema & Psoriasis

Covering eczema or psoriasis with inappropriate cosmetics might aggravate it further. Eczema is a general term encompassing various inflamed skin conditions. The exact causes are unknown, but generally linked to an overactive response by the body’s immune system. Common triggers include soaps, fabrics, sweat, animals, and other irritants. It is not contagious, but persistent and unsightly, characterized by reddish, dry and extremely itchy patches. Most of the time, it comes with blisters, therefore scratching can cause the skin to ooze pus and create crusty scabs on the skin. Psoriasis is a chronic, recurring condition that is caused by an overproduction of skin cells. The dead skin cells build up and accumulate into thick patches of white scales, causing serious itching. The unpredictable nature of psoriasis makes treatment challenging for many. It is important to be open-minded and willing to work with your doctor to find one that works. Our team of experienced doctors are here to plan the best possible treatments for you. Treatment: Prevent scratching is the priority in the case of eczema and psoriasis, as they are usually dry and itchy. The most common treatment is topical medications to keep the skin moist and reduce the itch. For severe cases, oral antihistamines or corticosteroids may be prescribed to control the symptoms more effectively. Antibiotics will be necessary should the skin show signs of infection. Supplements like omega-3, vitamin D and vitamin E could aid in skin healing. Phototherapy is a procedure that carefully exposes the skin to UV wavelengths to control the growth of skin cells, effectively reduce rashes, scaling and itching.

Hair Loss Treatment

Eyebrows & Eyelashes Transplant

Every year, millions of people discovered that their eyebrow hair is thinning. Instead of having bald spots on your eyebrows or filling them in with pencils, eyebrow hair transplants are the most natural, low maintenance solution available to both men and women.

Eyelash hair transplantation is a relatively new procedure that was used to treat areas of the eyelid that have no eyelashes. The treatment can thicken and enhance the appearance of the eyelashes as well. The donor hairs come from the scalp which then become eyelashes and continue to grow for a lifetime.

This is a very delicate procedure, requiring perfect placement of hairs angled at the right direction to mimic natural growth. There are ways to correct thinning brows or lashes. Our doctors are ready to help you.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)

Hair transplant is the only permanent method of hair restoration in which one’s own hair roots (follicles) from the back and sides of the head are extracted and implanted on the bald area.

Current practices of hair transplant involve 2 ways of hair extraction: Strip harvesting and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). In strip harvesting, a strip of skin from the back of the head is removed with scalpel. The gap at the back of the head is then sutured together. The strip is then divided into grafts for hair transplant.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is the most scientific & advanced technique of hair restoration. It is a stitch-less method of hair restoration in which hair follicles are extracted from the back of the head under local anesthesia with the help of special micropunches and implanted in the bald area. In this procedure, no scalpel is required. Besides hair loss, FUE technique applies for thinning eyebrows and eyelashes, as well as other body parts like moustache.

Surgeons at KO Hair restoration clinic are well trained by international pioneers and always updated with the latest developments in global aesthetic medicines. Kindly consult our doctors to determine whether you are qualified for a hair transplant surgery.

Hair Loss Mesotherapy

Hair Loss Mesotherapyis the procedure of administering growth factors, vitamins & proteins in the scalp of patients suffering from hair fall. These substances are injected into mesoderm, a layer under skin, which is a link between tissues of skin and layer of fat. It helps in enhancing blood distribution, triggering cell metabolism and speeding up the revival of hair follicles.

It has been found to be helpful in a lot of patients suffering from hair fall, even in the case of androgenetic alopecia. Results vary among individuals depending on the cause and severity of the condition. To speed up the healing process, we can recommend the appropriate supplements to be taken orally or topical ointments.

Low-Level Laser Therapy

Low-Level Laser Therapy (or Cold Laser Therapy) is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for hair loss. Since the cause of hair thinning and baldness lies deep within the scalp, low-level laser light stimulates blood flow, follicle growth and eventually, hair growth. It is most effective in individuals with minimal to moderate case of hair loss. There is no heat component that might causes cuts or burns the inner tissues. It stimulates the red blood supply to the scalp, encourages cell metabolism and repairs damaged cells.

With Low-Level Laser Therapy, your new grown hair will be of original hair color, even if your hair is turning grey by the time of treatment. The duration and cost for each individual varies depending on the cause and severity of the condition. Kindly consult our doctors for further clarification.

Hypertrophic & Keloid Scars

They Itch, and They Might Grow A scar occurs as a result of wound repair anywhere on your body. The composition of scars varies, from flat to sunken or lumpy. Hypertrophic scars can be itchy, red and raised initially, and continue to thicken. However, they never exceed the boundaries of the original wound, and generally become flatter or paler with time. A keloid scar is an overgrowth of tissue. It keeps growing, even after the wound has healed. Keloids are itchy, hairless and shiny, and can grow much larger than the original wound. What We Can Do Injections can flatten thick scars. For laser resurfacing, we provide plenty of choices from Fractional CO2 Laser, Er:YAG Laser, Er:Glass Laser, to Pulsed Dye Laser. Treatment recommendations and the number of sessions required are made depending on the severity of the scar.

Mole Removal

Pigmentation, Uneven Skin Tone & Moles

Pigmentation simply means coloring. Melasma, freckles, moles etc are all part of pigmentation problems.

When skin cells become damaged or unhealthy, melanin production is affected, resulting in blotchy and uneven skin tone. The patches can be brown, deep brown, blue-grey, and even blue-black in colour.

Melasma is one such skin pigmentation condition commonly experienced by women, especially during pregnancy, hence the nickname “mask of pregnancy”. It presents as brown patches on sun-exposed areas of the face, such as cheeks, bridge of nose, forehead and upper lip.

Freckles are small flat brown spots arising on the face and other sun exposed areas, often seen in fair skinned people, but they can be inherited by those with darker skin as well. Usually, freckles appear around the age of five and tend to fade in adulthood.

People with fair skin often have more moles compared to people with darker skin. Most moles present at birth and are completely harmless, and they can change in number and appearance. However, they can be a nuisance and affect your confidence.

What We Can Do:
- Chemical Peel – Exfoliates the dead skin cells to achieve an improved skin tone.
- Vitaliont Facial Treatment – Deep penetration of Ionized Vitamin C to restrain melanin production.
- Dual Yellow Light
- Line Xel
- Fraxel, Evo

Rosacea Treatment

The earliest phases of rosacea starts with the gradual reddening of the skin, and the patients may mistakenly self-diagnose themselves as having acne. Rosacea, unlike acne, has no blackheads or whiteheads. Aside from frequent flushing, rosacea sufferers may experience swelling, itch and even peeling of affected areas. Sun exposure, hot and spicy food or drink can easily aggravate facial flushing. Make-ups, sunscreens or other ointment applied can trigger a burning and stinging sensation. Rosacea can also generates red, sore or gritty eyelid margins, even enlarged nose with prominent pores. There are several theories regarding the cause of rosacea, including genetic, environmental, vascular and inflammatory factors. Chronic exposure to ultraviolet radiation also plays a part. Arthroplasty

Arthroplasty is a surgical procedure to reconstruct or reshape a damaged or diseased joint. This surgery often involves removalof the damaged joint and the implantation of an artificial joint. Those who are in good health but experience osteoarthritic pain that has not responded to other treatments to the point of interfering with their daily activities can opt for the surgery. The relief of joint pain and better quality of life are the driving factors for patients to receive arthroplasty. Arthroplasty may be used to: - Replace all or part of a joint with a prosthesis. - Reshape the bone and cartilage that make up the joint. Arthroplasty is performed under anesthesia and may last several hours. During the procedure, the joint is fully exposed and the damaged bone and cartilage are cut away or reshaped. Patients typically resume normal activities within 3 months.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a type of arthritis caused by the breakdown and loss of cartilage (connective tissue that cushions bones at joints). Symptoms include pain, stiffness and joint locking. There are many factors that lead to osteoarthritis. For instance, joint injury, obesity, or misalignments of bones. You may be suffering from osteoarthritis if you have pain or discomfort when you use your joints (especially the knee) and the symptom has been present for more than 6 months. Your doctor will examine you and take an X-ray – usually this will be enough to diagnose the condition. Otherwise, it may be necessary to undergo more sophisticated tests or scans. Let us help. Don’t know what to choose? Leave the complicated job to us! At KO Skin Specialist Centre, we offer a complete line of treatment to eradicate your dilemma.

Total Knee Replacement

Total knee replacement is a surgery to replace worn or damaged parts of the knee joint. The surface of the diseased joint are removed and replaced with an artificial joint. This surgery can relieve pain and improve movements in your knee joint. You may need a total knee replacement if: - Other treatments such as medicine, steroid injections and physical therapy, no longer stop your pain or help movement of the joint. - The pain or poor movement in your knee prevents you from doing your normal activities. The staff will help you stand and begin walking with a walker the day of or day after surgery. You will have some pain as the tissues heal and muscles regain their strength. This pain should go away in a few weeks and pain medicine will be given to relieve surgery pain. With your new joint and physical therapy, you may be able to resume some of the activities you once enjoyed. Kindly consult our doctors if you need any advice.

Dark Circles & Eyebag

Dark circles can make a person appear older, tired, sick, depressed or just plain unappealing. Heredity factors, sun-induced melanin production, lack of sleep and the aging process are factors that can worsen dark circles. Hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin caused by an overproduction of melanin) is another cause. Does anyone have the experience of trying to cover dark circles with heavy makeup, but ends with the eerie look of a zombie, ready to join a Halloween party? What We Can Do: Lasers such as Helios II, Medlite and Revlite effectively target dark concentrations of melanin to eliminate them. The effects are swift, giving a bright-eyed appearance immediately after treatment, and 3 to 6 sessions will yield the best results. Mesotherapy can significantly improve the color under the eyes and also reduce the size of the eyebag. By injecting specific nutrients into the skin, we can stimulate the collagen and elastin production, thus rejuvenate your eye area. AGNES uses micro-insulated needle to reduce eyebag and diminish syringoma without surgery.

Mesotherapy

Rehydration & Brightening

You drank lots of water, but it ends up in your bladder. Drinking water is important, but water doesn’t go straight to the skin. Dry skin is best treated from the outside. Inappropriate cleansing products, perfumes, excessive bathing or swimming, air-conditioning, prolonged sun exposure, weather changes and some other factors can determine how dry your skin will be. And when we say “dry”, it doesn’t limit to taut or scaly skin. Without proper care, dry skin leads to fine lines, wrinkles and premature aging. So, instead of shoving water down your throat, locking in moisture, improving the skin barrier function and application of good sunscreens are far more effective. What We Can Do: Give your skin a much-needed boost to quench its thirst and return the youthful, radiant glow. Hyaluronic acid is the “key to the fountain of youth”. It regulates cell growth and boosts cell renewal. It also acts as a humectant, which means it attracts and locks in water to give your skin a moisture glow. Mesotherapy with hyaluronic acid can revive the elasticity and firmness of your skin, and improve your complexion from deep within. Vitaliont Facial Treatment encourages regeneration of collagen and elastin i
